The back to school celebration was filled with fun, laughter, ice buckets and amazing generosity!

Pack 459’s back to school celebration was an amazing success. From lazer tag and angry birds, to booger wars and hamster balls Cub Scouts and their families had an amazing time. Even more amazing was the spirit and generosity of the Pack when it came to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

When the pack was challenged by Amanda Leekley, who has been selling friendship bracelets for years to raise funds for ALS raising over $700 on her own, the Pack rose to the challenge, and delivered! At the time the video was recorded, over $750 had been raised. By the end of the celebration, over $1,900 was raised!

The Challenge Continues…

A key part of participating in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is not just to raise awareness about ALS, but especially to raise funds for research so we can hopefully eradicate this disease. To continue this, we challenge;

  1. Our former Cubmaster, Mr. Mike Siegel and his new Boy Scout Troop in Tennessee.
  2. Our former Cubmaster, Mr. Ceaser Berenguer.
  3. Troop 444 (and Mr. Bud Ferguson) in Marietta, GA.

Mr. Berenguer also challenged the entire Boy Scout Wood Badge Staff from Wood Badge training session 92-75!

Donations that have an impact-

The pack donated all funds raised to the Kimberly Kim Foundation. The Kim family is a Scouting family and part of Pack 459.
